‘Dance to become calmer as it keeps your worries away and helps you deal with your life in a better way" ,said Award winning dancer, choreographer and most popular dance reality judge, Terence Lewis as he swayed along with the students of Whistling Woods International.
Terence Lewis, famous stage and TV dancing star with his own academy in Mumbai revealed several meaningful insights, contrary to general perceptions, where classical dance is highly valued and respected in our Indian culture as the ultimate dance form, even when we do not know the art or technique of it.

Terence demonstrated the beauty and techniques of contemporary dance to 400 students at the 5th Veda cultural workshop initiated by Subhash Ghai at Whistling Woods. He elucidated about the evolution of classical dances and its growth till a point, after which it does not allow the next generation to take it forward to the next level, limiting the vast horizon.
Hence, the next generation broke the rules after knowing their rules and went ahead with free style of dance to open energies of universe. So we are here to formalize it as Contemporary dance with clear understanding and respecting and learning the deeper theories of classical dances, which have to be our foundation course, post which we are free to adopt the transformation we need in contemporary dance.

Terence Lewis exuded sufficient depth and variety of material to his dance, which earned him constant applause. His aura on the stage was supported by dexterous dance technique, style and sheer performing skill. Also the other dancers enchanted everyone with wonderful delicacy, as Terence brought a marvelous fullness to his choreography which drew the students audience into the moment-by-moment tension.
He emphasized on the point that since India is a multi-cultural country, it is very important to collaborate with other people and being in touch with other ideas to gain inspiration and explore the subject. Students should be determined to widen their horizons and should preserve their individuality in all the different styles they explore.

Subhash Ghai, Founder and Chairman, WWI, applauded Terence for sharing such a profound knowledge and insight and offered the WWI trophies to him and his team while Meghna Ghai Puri, President, Whistling Woods thanked Terence for conducting such a thrilling and entertaining workshop at the house packed auditorium at Whistling Woods International.
