Talat Aziz impressed 400 students of Whistling Woods International with sheer tonal beauty and showed ample seriousness of purpose where needed, as in the elegant to shed light on ‘The Art of Ghazal writing and singing.’ He emphasized on the importance of retaining this art form and how it blends in and elevates the level of modern music. He said, “Ghazals are entwined with human pain which remains constant even though the musical eras may vary which is why they will always be a precious genre.”

The selection of repertory he chose was very enjoyable and memorable. He treated the songs as things still alive and capable of communicating with students. Differentiating between songs and ghazals he said, “Songs are a magic of voice with beautiful words while Ghazals are magic of words with beautiful Voice.‘’
Conducting a music workshop specially on ghazal culture at 5th Veda cultural hub initiated by Subhash Ghai and Whistling Woods, an international institute of film, communication & media arts, Talat Aziz sang ghazals of legendary poets like Ghalib, Mir Taki Mir, Sahir ludhianvi, Kaifi Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Gulzar and spoke about the special qualities of each poet. He also shared experiences of how Mehdi Hassan and Jagjit Singh blessed him and inspired him to be a singer and composer.

Things grew positively raucous at times, as when two students volunteered to sing Ghazal on stage while another took to recital. Also, Talat Aziz after giving an insight of his life journey as to how he was inspired by Mehendi Hasan, he spoke about late Jagjit Singh who earned the epithet of ‘King of Ghazals’ and also inspired him.
An AV was shown on Spiritual Journey followed by an AV which explored the evolution of Ghazal till date. Talat Aziz owned the evening with liveliness and by playing old-time ghazals with anytime joy.
